Largest flag flying in a football stadium: Barcelona fans sets world record

 
BARCELONA, Spain -- During the Joan Gamper Trophy, which faced the FC Barcerlona and AC Milan on the 'New Camp' stadium, the "Associació Catalana Pro Senyera més gran del món" unfurled a giant Catalan flag, covering 145,805.24 square feet (13,545.75 m2) - which sets the world record for the Largest flag flying in a fotball stadium,

  The Guinness world record for the largest kite ever flown has a total lifting area of 950 m² (10,225.7 ft²). The kite measured 25.475 m (83 ft 7 in) long and 40 m

(131ft 3 in) wide. The kite was made by Abdulrahman Al Farsi and Faris Al Farsi and flown at the Kuwait Hala Festival in Flag Square, Kuwait City, Kuwait.


 Longest Header Goal: Ryujiro Ueda sets world record

 
TOKYO, Japan -- In the second division in Japan, Fagiano Okayama centre-half Ryujiro Ueda scored a 58-yard header against Yokohama FC at the Mitsuzawa Stadium - setting the new world record for the Longest Header Goal.  The previous Guinness world record of 57.3 metres was scored in Norway's Tippeligaen by Jone Samuelsen for Odd Grenland.


Most football shirts worn at one time: Robbie Savage set world record

 
LONDON, UK -- Former Welsh international Robbie Savage, 36, managed to find space to wear shirts from all 72 Football League clubs , setting the world record for most number of football shirts worn at one time.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest t-shirt - it measured 85.74 m (281.3 ft) in length and 55.14 m (180.9ft) in width and was achieved by Gildan displayed at the Centennial Park during the 40th annual CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
  
  Former Welsh international Robbie Savage, 36, managed to find space to wear shirts from all 72 Football League clubs, with strips varying from the modern day skin tight kits to the colour frenzied tops of the early 90s.


 Largest stadium banner: Penarol fans sets world record

 
MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay -- At their Libertadores Cup match with Independiente, Penarol's fans unfurled a giant banner with the team's yellow and black colors to mark their 120th birthday; the banner measured 310 by 48 meters (1017 by 157 feet), covers 15,000 square meters, cost $33,500 and took 300 fans just to carry to the ground , setting the world record for the Largest stadium banner.
 The World's Largest Stadium Banner covered nearly half of the stadium.



Largest football sculpture - world record set by Telkom
  PRETORIA, South Africa -- South African telecommunications company Telkom has built a 50-tonne football on top of the Lukasrand tower in Pretoria, promoting the 2010 World Cup, which is made of fibreglass and has a diameter of 24 meters - setting the new world record for the Largest football sculpture.

The largest football sculpture in the world is made out of fibre-glass shells that are mounted and supported on the inside with steel frames. Weighing approximately 50 tonnes in total, the ball measures approximately 24 metres in diameter and eight storeys in height.

   The world's largest football sculpture is larger than any structure of its kind in the country and the African continent.



Longest soccer game-world record set by Bristol Academy and Leeds Badgers

 BRISTOL, UK -- Two English amateur football teams- Bristol Academy and Leeds Badgers- played soccer (football) non-stop for 36 hours in the 'Footballathon'-setting the new world record for the Longest soccer game.


 Simon Lynes, organiser of the Longest soccer game, said:" This was an absolutely incredible effort from all the lads. We were exhaused and there were some though times in the early hours of the morning but once we got past the 24 hours mark we knew we were going to make it. I'm so proud of each and every one of the players who put in an unbelievable effort both before and during the Longest soccer game."

   The previous world record for the longest soccer game was set by Joeys Soccer Club with a 32 hours long game.



Largest sounding trumpet - Hyundai South Africa sets world record
   CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- Hyundai South Africa has unveiled a sound trompet measuring 114.82 feet (35 meters) in length and 18.04 feet (5.5 meters) in diameter, which has been installed on the Cape Town unfinished highway and sets the new world record for the Largest sounding trumpet (Largest Vuvuzela).

 The previous Guinness world record for the Largest sounding trumpet was 32 meters.

   The Largest sounding trumpet in The World (World's Largest Vuvuzela) has been created as part of Hyundai's national "Gees" campaign and is aimed at encouraging South African's to come together and "bring the Gees" in celebration of the world's greatest sporting event to hit South Africa, the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
